Most holiday and weekend are automatically filtered and there is a data range option in the charting dialog, but there may be times when you will need to create your own filters.

Chart data filters let you customize the amount and type of data presented in a chart or tabular historical display.  ProphetX provides some filters for you, and it’s easy to create your own. You can filter holidays, sessions and elements.

To Create a Data Holiday Filter

  • Click on the Studies and Filters docked window pane.
  • Click on the plus sign (+) next to the Filters folder to expand the list and click on the plus sign (+) next to the Holiday’s Folder.
  • Right-click on the USA Filter and select Clone
  • This will duplicate the existing Filter in a new file. Right Mouse click and select Rename. Type in new Title.
  • Right Mouse click again and select Properties.
  • Select dates to be excluded from a chart when this filter is attached. Enter a date or select one from the calendar (refer to Using the Calendar, below)
  • Click Add. Repeat to add additional holidays to this filter.
  • Once you are done adding Dates, Click OK.

The holidays you select will be added to the list below the text box. To delete any date on the list, click on it to select it, then click the Delete button.

Using the Calendar

To select dates from a calendar, click the arrow button to the right of each entry field to view its calendar, then double click on the desired date. To move forward and backward through the months, click the arrows at the top of the calendar. Click the Add button to add dates to the Holiday list.

To Modify a Data Holiday Filter

In the Studies and Filters docked window pane window, select the Holidays folder, then right-click on a filter, select Properties from the drop down menu. Follow the instructions above to add or change selections. Select OK to exit and save your changes.
